Rusinga Island Children's Fund, Kenya

A full 100% of all contributions go directly to support these children with food, medical care, and education, including school fees and essential school items such as clothing and shoes.

The most needy children are served in 3 ways:

  1. Food - the year-round feeding program started in February, 2016.
  2. Education – including schools for the blind, deaf, indigent, and full or partial orphans.
  3. Medical care – children are checked often and sent to doctor or hospital as needed.

Rusinga Island, Kenya, has one of the highest rates of AIDS in the world, along with many other life threatening diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, and typhoid fever. Adults often feel hopeless, but the children are the ones who suffer most. They are often left without parents, without food, without health care. Many have no opportunity to go to school because they lack school fees. Even the brightest of children we have taught in Kenya would have had no chance to attend school, without help, because they are so poor. Children who are sent to school have a chance to "change their stars" - to turn their hopeless lives around to become happier children and productive adults.

Rusinga Island Children's Fund is a 501(c)(3) of the federal income tax code.
